About the role

You will schedule industrial inspections for new CAPEX projects in the oil and gas sector, implement a QA/QC program with Directors, and act as the primary contact for field inspectors on job-related issues. Inspection projects may include materials for offshore platforms or refineries. Must live in the Houston area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage detailed inspection schedules for raw materials and finished products used in offshore platforms, refinery construction, and other oil and gas projects.
  • Oversee internal and external field technicians/inspectors via a web-based project management system, including availability, locations, qualifications, and skillsets.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and inspectors to ensure timely execution of inspections.
  • Adjust schedules to accommodate project changes while maintaining compliance with specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure adequate inspector coverage (geographic and skill-based) and analyze operational capacity for pipeline projects.
  • Serve as liaison between operational leadership, field inspectors, clients, and representatives to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with global BV offices to schedule inspections of materials and finished products internationally.
  • Ensure field inspectors meet client reporting and accountability expectations.
  • Monitor and track inspection progress to adhere to timelines and milestones.
  • Maintain a centralized tracking system for real-time updates on inspection status.
  • Identify and address potential delays or issues impacting project schedules.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to communicate schedules and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Facilitate resolution of quality issues with suppliers, documenting corrective actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of inspection activities, including reports, test results, and certifications.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on inspection status to project management and clients.
  • Ensure proper archiving and retrieval of documentation.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Align inspection activities with overall project goals.
  • Validate and approve inspectors’ timesheets, expenses, and subcontractor invoices.
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate recording of inspection-related expenses.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost tracking for inspection activities.
  • Review and approve invoices for inspection services, ensuring alignment with POs and contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; minimum of three years of relevant experience required.
  • Previous experience in people scheduling and project scheduling, preferably in construction, engineering, or oil and gas.
  • Must live in the Houston area.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Strong reasoning, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and project management software.
  • Time management, active listening, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability to remote work with reliable cell phone and internet service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in office software and computerized scheduling tools.
