The Georgia-Pacific Engineering team is seeking a Converting Project Manager to lead capital projects in Towel and Tissue converting and packaging operations, as well as Dixie® operations. The role requires understanding and developing relationships with facilities and division leadership, managing multiple projects, and continuously seeking innovative improvements.

About the Role

This is a Green Bay-based position within an engineering and project management organization. The successful candidate will support manufacturing facilities and travel up to 50% of the time. Key responsibilities include developing and executing project investment summaries, building relationships, managing projects, aligning procurement and sourcing strategies, and managing third-party resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project investment venture summaries with full responsibility for scope, schedule, and estimates.
  • Build and grow relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Project management of select projects to support resourcing demands.
  • Develop and evaluate investment alternatives for long-term value creation, coordinating with various teams.
  • Work with Procurement and Sourcing teams to align on equipment and construction contracting strategies, including bidding, cost evaluation, selection, and award.
  • Manage third parties including consultants, contractors, and technical resources.
  • Seek and share best knowledge to drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Science field.
  • Three or more years of project management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience managing a team.
  • Paper converting or material handling experience.
  • Experience in pulp & paper and/or similar industries.

Skills

  • Economic and critical thinking skills.
  • Initiative and judgment.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
