Project Manager Construction - Scaffolding

As a Project Manager, you will manage project timelines and budgets, create and implement technical solutions, and oversee construction methods based on design concepts and visual information. This role requires hands-on experience in scheduling, communication, and general construction practices, with significant local and out-of-market travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite project management lead for all greater NY-based jobs (approx. 40-50% out-of-office in-market).
• Complete daily progress reports with crew attendance, photos, and completion metrics for each active job.
• Conduct site visits as needed for greater NY area jobs.
• Travel out of market as needed (approx. 15-20% travel) when nationwide project management bandwidth is limited.
• Accompany clients, building departments, fire marshals, etc., on walkthroughs to inspect and confirm installations meet code and client expectations; acquire sign-off prior to project completion.
• Oversee project preparation in the Hauppauge warehouse, including tools, hardware, materials, and equipment needs.
• Assist with local project planning, schedules, and logistics.
• Ensure crews attend safety orientations, comply with safety regulations, and use proper PPE.
• Manage job-specific purchasing and procurement.
• Assist warehouse manager with creation and verification of Bills of Lading (BOLs) for inbound and outbound materials.
• Assist in development of project cost estimates in collaboration with the sales team.
• Coordinate and review technical drawings with the CAD Department and project foreman to ensure all job details are captured.
• Review detailed assembly/installation drawings with the project foreman for use by the installation crew.
• Actively communicate with management and warehouse teams to maintain shop production and logistics schedules.
• Work closely with department heads and subcontractors to meet budgetary and scheduling goals.
• Communicate with clients, management, and sales staff during build and strike phases to align on progress, milestones, and deadlines.
• Manage changes to project scope onsite and report budgetary or staffing implications to management.
• Track and report project costs compared to budget; assemble post-mortem reports on all projects.

Requirements

• Previous industry experience in scaffolding, construction, technical theater, and/or scenic fabrication is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Teams.
• High-level problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize short- and long-term project objectives.
• Outstanding relationship skills and a team-oriented, collaborative work ethic.
• Ability to work within a flexible schedule.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Availability to report to the Hauppauge office on workdays not scheduled for jobsites.
• Bilingual is a major plus but not required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Pay

$80,000 (negotiable based on experience).
