Duties
- Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements
- Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules
- Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact
- Aids Client management staff with bid and contract planning
- Assesses bid specifications according to Client needs and probability of completion under stated timeline
- Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting
- Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects
- Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control
- Reviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for Architects and related consultants
- Coincides program activities with other Client organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Design and A/E Technical Support, Asset Management Branch, Contract Administration, Inspection Unit, Maintenance and Operations
- Reviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects
- Actively manages General Contractors in the field
- Project reporting

- BA/BS + 4 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Seven years of professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that includes the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities
- Five years of experience with healthcare facilities design, planning and construction
- In field management of General Contractors
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Experience with construction management
- Design-Build, progressive design build, Manage projects $90M and above, local worker PLAs, prevailing wage / DIR experience, public works projects, DSA experience
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with an architecture, engineering or construction management
- Additional courses in business administration, public relations, accounting, school finance, personnel management, educational facilities planning, and communication are preferred
- Preferred Licenses and Certificates: A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
- A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
- LEED Professional Accreditation
