Project Manager (Construction)
Position Summary
Our team is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and highly organized Facilities Project Manager to assist with expanding and outfitting our infrastructure to meet rapidly growing business needs. Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage assigned facility projects from initiation, planning, and execution through monitoring, controlling, and closure. Oversee new construction, renovations, and special upgrades.
- On-Site Management: Visit job sites daily to document progress, ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards, and maintain an accurate daily activity log. Maintain comprehensive photo records of all phases of construction.
- Technical Compliance: Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and pre-construction plans to ensure construction techniques and materials meet all project and aerospace requirements.
- Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong, effective working relationships with project architects, engineers, general contractors, and internal stakeholders. Attend and participate in all progress meetings.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all construction activities strictly adhere to Federal, State, and local building regulations, as well as specialized industry safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined experience, education, and training.
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated facilities experience encompassing construction management, planning, layout design, and space allocation. Industry Preference: Experience with laboratory construction or aerospace environments is highly preferred.
- Technical Systems: Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, power operations, and specialized gas piping systems for aerospace services (including nitrogen, helium, oxygen, and compressed air).
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard Facility Management Software.
- Compliance Background: Familiarity and working knowledge of local and international building codes (IBC).
Key Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and complex blueprints.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for creating detailed reports, business correspondence, and presentations for management and clients.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot quickly, assess risks, and implement design or repair solutions with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.
- Thrive under pressure, tight deadlines, and extended work hours when necessary.
