About the role

The Commissioning Project Manager will work closely with the lead electrical and mechanical commissioning agents on each project to ensure success. This position is responsible for managing commissioning and QA/QC projects, including monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new construction and retrofit construction commissioning projects, including staffing, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Review drawings and specifications across multiple projects to ensure the building owner’s intent is met during the design phase.
  • Review product data submittals to ensure equipment aligns with the building owner’s specifications.
  • Develop plans for on-site testing and conduct analysis to support on-site work.
  • Write reports summarizing key findings for external audits.
  • Interface with project managers, subcontractors, and design/construction teams via phone and email for clarification and feedback.
  • Contribute to business development through speaking events, proposal development, and project interviews.
  • Lead commissioning coordination meetings with owners, design teams, and contractors.
  • Test and explore installed systems with contractors, document issues, and resolve them proactively.
  • Witness and report on system startups, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Adjust communication style to effectively interface with diverse construction team members, including architects, designers, facilities managers, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and administrative procedures.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift and/or move 10 to 15 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review. Positions requiring driving must meet company and insurance carrier standards.
