Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a team lead in coordinating a project team of engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the concept design, modification, analysis and construction of public and private infrastructure.
- Cook up and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure projects stay on track.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Monitor progress and performance of projects, ensuring high-quality results.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Facilitate public meetings, presentations, and communication with stakeholders and community members.
- Technical assignments may include roadway and highway geometrics, drainage system design, traffic analysis and design, barrier warrant analyses, maintenance of traffic, general civil/site development, and other related tasks.
- Project types may include but are not limited to taxiway and runway design, pavement design, signing and striping and more.
- Additional assignments may include developing preliminary design studies and Project Reports, preparing specifications, completing quantity take-offs, and checking design computations.
- Facilitate the company's quality control procedure for deliverable generation, archiving, and distribution/transmittal.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale transportation projects from design through construction.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, roadway design, traffic engineering, and project management.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations and permitting processes.
