General Summary
Guided by a Director or Vice-President within the Office of Community Health, Equity and Wellness (CHEW), the project manager's role encompasses management of departmental and/or enterprise-wide initiatives and strategies that fall under CHEW. These initiatives may cover areas such as social determinants of health, prevention and wellness, among others.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages the implementation of projects and/or initiatives, often working collaboratively with internal and external/community-based stakeholders or partners.
- Captures and disseminates key results at System, local, regional and/or national meetings and conferences.
- Facilitates and leads training sessions on public health, community wellness, inclusivity, and wellness for workers, corporate clients, and community associates.
- Conducts assessments/gap analysis and makes recommendations for quality improvements and performance improvements.
- Assists with preparation and submission of local government, foundation and federal grant proposals and reports to funding agencies and award applications.
- Represents department and/or the System at internal and external meetings.
- Prepares and presents professional or scholarly abstracts and manuscripts for academic sharing and/or publication.
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, health administration or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of three to four (3-4) years previous experience working in health care or health focused setting.
- Administrative skills including supervision of staff, coordination of meetings, budget development and tracking, data/analytics and evaluation/tracking, and grant writing preferred.
- Certification, or interest in pursuing certification, in Lean Six Sigma, as a Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex environment and to negotiate /mediate complex and often competing interests.
- Must be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills and effective interpersonal skills, and possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic office and audiovisual equipment.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
