Summary The Project Manager – Business Operations assists and supports the General Manager and Director of Operations with the planning and execution of assigned projects within a geographic region. This position will work closely with multiple operations and sales departments ensuring relevant operational information is shared and acted upon. The Project Manager – Business Operations will also work on various ad-hoc projects pertaining to the branch to drive efficiencies and change. This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show site 3 days a week based out of McCook, IL. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Participate in the planning and implementation of operational activities in the region providing relevant and up to date information to planning and design teams to ensure optimal execution of eventsReview and help resolve any production schedule conflicts between internal departments and outside partiesBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers, facilities, and contingent/casual labor providersAttend pre-con meetings and assist with site surveys as needed to ensure proper planningReviews and maintains all documentation of relevant operational information needed to produce events in the regionEnsures functional departments (e.g. Implementation, Labor, Production Design) have accurate and most recent information regarding operational factors in the regionCoordinate operational plans and changes with show site execution team to maximize profitability and best use of resourcesEnsures that company safety guidelines are followed and implemented at show siteAct as liaison to sales team to support their understanding of operational guidelines of facilities in the regionServes as point of contact for teams when multiple departments are involved to ensure team is working in synergyEnsures Freeman standards are met by performing quality control and necessary escalations throughout the development of projects in the regionMeasure project performance to identify areas of improvement Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High school diploma or Equivalent requiredMinimum 3 years’ professional industry experienceMinimum 2 years’ experience managing projectsWorking knowledge of audio visual systems and live event productionDemonstrate strong leadership skills and strategic thinking with the ability to flourish in a matrix organizationAbility to manage difficult or emotional customer situations successfully and timelyUnderstanding of business implications of decisions; working knowledge of competitionAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively to multiple audiences internally and externally; proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers at all levelsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to make decisions based on computer-generated reportsAbility to generate electronic reportsMust be an innovative problem solver with the ability to deal quickly and effectively with issuesDemonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and large programsStrong analytical, organizational, collaborative, and critical thinking skills requiredMeticulous attention to detail as well as superior organizational and creative thinking skillsMust have experience juggling multiple clients with competing demands; proven ability to adapt while managing multiple competing prioritiesAbility to deliver a technical message to a non-technical audienceExcellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with numerous business teamsAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, or regulatory agenciesAdvanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (i.e., Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)Understanding of O.S.H.A. requirements Certificates, Licenses, Registrations None Required Travel Requirements Travel 25% to 50% What We Offer The Freeman Company provides benefits that aim to empower our people and their families to thrive mentally, physically, and financially.
