About the role
Yancey Bros. Co., established in 1914, serves as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, focusing on high-quality sales, parts, and service for various Caterpillar equipment including heavy and compact construction equipment, on-highway trucks, generators, and industrial engines.
Responsibilities
- Support the sales of Yancey Power Systems (YPS) products (Generators, ATS, Paralleling Switchgear, & Accessories).
- Manage multiple project(s) to completion to satisfy both internal and external customers.
- Organize, schedule, coordinate, purchase, communicate, and lead efforts of others.
- Collaborate with Yancey Sales Reps to exceed customer project expectations.
- Perform a review of new projects to confirm accuracy of bill of materials, cost estimate, and T&C's.
- Work with the Salesman and Management to clear up any conflicts or misunderstandings.
- Verify that the quote and estimate meet the specifications and customer technical requirements.
- Work with customers to obtain submittal approval, release for manufacturing, ensure project times are met, and answer all questions.
- Issue purchase orders to vendors to procure all equipment.
- Cook up and purchase services of shipping companies to deliver equipment in alignment with customer requirements.
- Perform invoicing on all delivered goods and services.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive in addressing issues before they become problems.
- Strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5-years experience as a project manager or engineer in the electric power industry or a related technical field.
- Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or related equivalent experience.
- Strong human relations skills and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills over telephone and through technology (email, text, etc.).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- 5+ years of direct customer contact experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and power generation systems (eg. diesel & gaseous engines, transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, and supporting equipment).
- Skilled in the Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat business software.
- A team player, cooperative, collaborative, willing and able to work easily and synergistically with others.
