About the role
We are currently searching for an experienced Project Manager to support our Program Management department located in Bossier City, LA.
Responsibilities
- Act as the company representative with the client, internal subconsultants, and third-party consultants and contractors during the program execution.
- Create and prepare a Project Execution Plan (PEP) that identifies the project team organization, specific tasks or phases, and all work to complete the project.
- The PEP outlines a schedule to ensure the project is completed on time and develops an estimate and schedule of the manpower required.
- Hold a project kick-off meeting to review the PEP with project team members.
- Ensure Quality Control reviews are conducted and documented.
- Notify accounting when the project is ready for the closure cycle and ensures all files and documents are retained in accordance with corporate policy.
- Maintain daily contact with field personnel during all field activities.
- Maintain direct contact with clients on a continuing basis to address technical and scheduling issues.
- Conduct project staff meetings to review progress and improve communication and coordination.
- Participate in the month-end project review that coincides with monthly billing and status reports.
- Prepare and present a detailed project review for the Group Manager.
- Monitor and report progress toward project milestones associated with the design, bid, and construction phases of assigned projects.
- Prepare and issue a monthly project progress report.
- Review Revenue Summary Reports monthly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.
- Develop project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables.
- Aid in the development, implementation, and maintenance of master budgets and schedules.
- Ensure that all technical design changes are approved to conform to the standards, systems and procedures as prescribed by the requirements of the project.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and other Project Managers to resolve scheduling or technical issues.
- Maintain project files and document archive using web-based project management information system (PMIS) and other project management software.
- Evaluate the effect of scope changes on project budgets and schedules, then negotiate with the client to increase fees required to accommodate such scope changes as necessary.
- Review, approve, and provide necessary documentation for invoicing in a timely manner.
- Maintain client accounts including collection of Accounts Receivable (AR’s).
- Anticipate problems and work with clients, architects/engineers, contractors, field personnel to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Keep client informed of the day-to-day project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Architecture/Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Architect or Engineer is required.
- A broad construction management background and project/program management experience on similar project types can come from work experience as an architect/engineer, contractor, and/or facilities manager.
- Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing experience is desired.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Project Management and/or Estimator experience in construction projects, or experience in overseeing/managing facilities, are important.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
