About the role
Vanguard Maintenance & Electrical is expanding its regional operations across the DFW metroplex, supporting healthcare campuses, educational institutions, and critical infrastructure projects throughout the area. We are looking for a Project Manager with deep BMS controls and low voltage expertise to lead project operations.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day project operations from field execution to financial tracking
- Lead, mentor, and support Superintendents, Installers, and field crews on-site
- Collaborate with clients, GC/CM, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project alignment
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all BMS controls and low voltage construction phases
- Drive QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality BMS and low voltage installations
- Oversee materials, labor, and equipment for maximum efficiency and productivity
- Coordinate with HR, Payroll, Housing, and Safety for smooth project operations
- Manage material deliveries, expediting, and inventory flow
- Track project financials — change orders, billing, and budget management
- Evaluate project risks, maintain a risk register, and monitor mitigation plans
- Attend monthly Project Status Review (PSR) meetings with Regional Operations and Finance
- Foster strong team morale and cultivate leadership within the field workforce
Requirements
- 3+ years of project management experience in BMS controls or low voltage electrical
- Experience on commercial or institutional projects — healthcare, education, or infrastructure (highly preferred)
- Prior formal PM title or role (a major plus)
- Skilled in reading and interpreting BMS drawings, low voltage plans, and technical specifications
- Familiarity with estimating, budgeting, billing, and project financial processes
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with operational departments
- Willingness to travel regionally as project needs require
- Deep knowledge of BMS systems, controls sequences, and building automation protocols
- Experience with earned value management and labor productivity analysis
- Familiarity with pull planning, Lean construction, or BIM coordination
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety compliance requirements
- Proficiency with construction management software and digital reporting platforms
