About the role
Research IT is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and move forward a high volume of active projects in a busy, fast-paced department.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects end to end.
- Plan, organize, and track research IT projects from intake through delivery, keeping scope, timelines, and deliverables clear and current.
- Serve as the central point of contact among study teams, IT staff, and external partners; schedule and facilitate meetings and keep everyone aligned.
- Prioritize competing work.
- Triage incoming requests and active projects in coordination with the PM team, set realistic priorities, and keep multiple efforts moving at once without losing track of details.
- Track progress and report status.
- Maintain project documentation and trackers, and provide clear, regular status updates to the PM and Research IT team and leadership.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks, and risks early; resolve what you can and escalate what you can’t.
- Support project billing and resources.
- Cook up project cost estimates, quotes, and billing information, and help ensure projects stay within scope and budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Candidate should have PMP or Prince 2 project management certification.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, experience with university computing systems, networks, services and resources, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
