Responsibilities
- Applies professional project management and concepts and department / unit and campus, medical center or Office of the President policies and procedures to manage projects.
- Provides analysis and status tracking for moderately complex, project-related issues.
- Implements the project management process in support of products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams.
- Makes sure project progress from initiation through delivery, including oversight of system integration, project and campus, medical center or Office of the President communications, interaction with vendors and managing risk.
- Identifies and escalates risks and facilitates resolution among project team members / stakeholders.
- Creates project proposals and reports.
- Assembles and directs moderate to large project teams, designs project plans and schedules and monitors budget and resources.
- Directs the activities of the project with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Identifies and reports any issues that arise as a result of implementing various changes within the organization.
- Identifies, communicates, and or solves conflicts based on agreed upon executive prioritization principles.
- Responsible for initiating and tracking invoices and check requests, monitoring PO’s to ensure enough funds are allocated.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining various rosters that support organizational/departmental projects.
- Administers facilities and space logistics and manages equipment needs.
- Performs recharge administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Minimum 3 years related experience.
- Project management certification from a reputable organization such as PMP, CSM or ACP to include a qualifying exam and/or quality assurance processes like Six Sigma or Lean or equivalent project management experience required.
- Requires basic knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
- Working knowledge of initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
- Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated organization and project management skills.
- Demonstrated effective writing skills.
- Knowledge of all aspects of communications.
- Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques.

- Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
- Prior experience organizing meetings, including travel arrangements, logistics and expense reimbursement.
