About the role
This position requires a seasoned Project Manager with 12+ years in IT delivery, including at least 8 years in a dedicated Project Manager role. The ideal candidate will have successfully led at least two large-scale, cross-functional projects to completion across various project types such as system migrations, digital transformations, platform implementations, or new product launches.
Responsibilities
- Own full accountability for project delivery across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk—from project initiation through delivery, go-live, and stabilization.
- Define the project roadmap and integrated delivery plan at the outset, breaking the project into logical phases or waves, identifying the critical path, mapping all workstream dependencies, and establishing milestones.
- Establish and operate project governance from day one, including steering committee cadence, RAID log, change control board, decision log, and status reporting framework.
- Manage vendor and partner delivery organizations by owning the SOW and contractual obligations, running regular governance reviews, enforcing SLA commitments, and escalating vendor performance issues.
- Drive cross-functional workstream alignment by chairing dependency resolution sessions, maintaining the integrated dependency log, assigning ownership to every cross-team dependency, and tracking resolution to closure.
- Own project financial management by tracking T&M actuals and forecast weekly, managing change requests through a formal scope change process, and presenting financial health to senior leadership with transparency.
- Facilitate and own Agile project ceremonies where applicable, such as PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops, ensuring all teams have clear objectives and dependencies mapped.
- Proactively manage the RAID log by identifying risks before they become issues, assigning owners, reviewing mitigation progress weekly, and escalating items that exceed the project's risk tolerance.
- Lead change management activities by assessing organizational impact, building a stakeholder communication plan, and ensuring business readiness activities are tracked as project deliverables.
- Be the single accountable point of contact for project health, providing weekly written status reports and participating in steering committee meetings with an honest, metric-backed view of progress, risks, and decisions needed.
Requirements
- 12+ years in IT delivery with a minimum of 8 years in a dedicated Project Manager role.
- Successfully led at least two large-scale, cross-functional projects to completion across different project types (e.g., system migrations, digital transformations, platform implementations, or new product launches).
- Strong command of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, with the ability to apply the right framework to the right context and manage hybrid projects.
- Expertise in project governance, including setting up and running a full governance structure (RAID log, steering committee, change control board, escalation matrix, and status reporting cadence).
- Proficiency in project planning and tracking tools such as Jira, MS Project, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalent, and advanced reporting using Excel or Power BI.
- Financial management skills, including experience owning a project budget, tracking actuals vs. forecast, managing scope change requests, and presenting financial status to senior leadership.
- Proven experience managing large vendor delivery partnerships, including defining SOWs, tracking contractual deliverables, running governance reviews, and holding delivery teams accountable.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple parallel workstreams (architecture, engineering, data, QA, security, infrastructure, and business readiness) while ensuring dependencies are mapped and tracked.
- Experience with organizational change management, including identifying business impact, developing stakeholder communication plans, managing resistance, and ensuring readiness before go-live.
- Strong experience with risk management, including identifying project-level risks early, building mitigation plans, quantifying risk exposure, and escalating issues with recommended options.
- SAFe or equivalent scaled Agile experience, including familiarity with PI Planning, Project Increment objectives, ART-level ceremonies, and multi-team dependency management.
