Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and budgets; track financial performance, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reports.
- Oversee change orders, RFIs, submittals, back charges, and other contractual processes in alignment with AIA contract documents and public-sector requirements.
- Ensure adherence to NYC agency guidelines (DDC, NYCHA, SCA, etc.), MWBE participation, and prevailing wage/certified payroll obligations.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams; provide regular progress reports and lead client-facing meetings.
- Supervise and mentor project engineers, assistant project managers, and field staff; foster a collaborative and accountable project culture.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA and site-specific).
- Utilize project management and financial software (Primavera P6, Procore, CMiC, Textura) to track performance, maintain documentation, and support executive reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s a plus).
- 5+ years of progressive experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably public-sector work in NYC.
- Strong knowledge of AIA contract documents, NYC procurement regulations, and public agency requirements (DDC, NYCHA, SCA, MTA).
- Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and contract compliance on projects $50M+.
- Experience with MWBE compliance, prevailing wage, and certified payroll.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Procore, CMiC, Textura, and other project management/financial systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- OSHA 30 certification required; PMP, CCM, or PE preferred.
