This is Dasharatham from SLIGO. We have an urgent requirement for a Project Manager position with our client.
About the role
The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation has several IT projects. Each project will require technology support from ITS. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the planning and implementation of these projects, ensuring that technology needs are coordinated with the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the communication between DEC and ITS on projects.
- Work closely with DEC business leaders to understand agency priorities.
- Interface closely with subject matter experts.
- Interface closely with ITS leaders to understand technology limitations.
- Interface closely with the staff in the Dedicated Team.
- Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, dependencies, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
- Develop and utilize standard procedures for project delivery, reporting, and documentation.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
- Track action items and deliverables on projects.
- Provide guidance and direction to the project teams.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project resources to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
- Track project-related costs and expenditures.
- Facilitate projects by defining agendas and running meetings.
- Agregate status updates from project team members, track schedules, and manage risks and issues as required.
- Coordinate vendor activities by monitoring and tracking vendor deliverables and commitments where relevant.
- Manage scope and the change request process, coordinating decision processes of scope and budgetary impact of changes from original specifications.
- Track and maintain project and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Experience (14+ Years): Plans, organizes, and integrates cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact.
- Monitoring and tracking progress on three or more long-term projects, ensuring alignment with goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Developing/reviewing project management deliverables (i.e., project plans, schedules, communication plans, etc.).
- Facilitating meetings with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization including project team members.
- Leading meetings, documenting notes, status reports, and developing project documentations.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Project Management Professional Certification.
- Copy of Candidate Identification (i.e., Driver's License/Green Card/Visa and Passport if applicable).
- Any documents referenced in the above qualifications (i.e., professional certifications, degrees, etc.).
