Position Summary
As an Associate Project Manager at Rocky Mountain Custom Landscape, you will support the successful execution of landscape construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Working closely with Project Managers, clients, design teams, and field crews, you will play a hands-on role in coordinating daily operations, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in overseeing multiple residential landscape construction projects from pre-construction through completion
- Support project execution by coordinating daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors
- Provide on-site supervision and direction to crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan
- Monitor project schedules, track progress, and help ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved
- Aid with project budgeting, cost tracking, and procurement of materials
- Conduct site walks, assist with field layout, and verify work meets design specifications and quality standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to support construction activities
- Ensure job site safety standards are followed and promote a proactive safety culture
- Communicate regularly with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders to provide updates and address issues
- Help resolve field challenges by coordinating solutions with Project Managers and crews
- Support subcontractor coordination and performance tracking
- Maintain project documentation including daily logs, schedules, and reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, efficiency, and project outcomes
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 2–5 years of experience in landscape construction, site work, or construction project coordination
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Construction, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Experience working in the field with construction or landscape crews preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and basic construction methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., Smartsheet or similar)
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work between field and office environments
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and advance within the landscape construction industry
