Project Manager
Responsibilities
Assemble and lead project based teams to successfully execute assigned projects and facilitate collaboration across departments
Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment ensuring a project is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
Meet with internal and external customers to clarify specific requirements of each project
Develop project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility; determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
Develop comprehensive project plans
Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements
Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; delegating project tasks based on personnel strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
Measure project performance utilizing appropriate systems, tools, and techniques; maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommend actions; perform risk management to minimize project risks
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, senior management, and key stakeholders
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree including a minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in engineering based Project Management OR Other Technical Degree with a minimum 10 years of proven work experience in engineering based Project Management
- PMP certification
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down business and technology organizations
- Proven ability to work in a fluid environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective; flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with process analysis and improvement
- Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
- Strong experience presenting to key stakeholders and senior management
- Demonstrated communication skills: both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
- Techically competent with various engineering based and project management software programs; experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning tool preferred
