About the role

The Project Manager position at Mauna Lani is part of the Auberge family and is based on the sun-drenched Kohala Coast of the Island of Hawaii. The resort offers contemporary guest rooms, suites, and private residences, along with dining options, pools, a spa, and sports programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage annual capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets aligned with ownership and business goals.
  • Timely ordering and purchasing of all project-related items, equipment, furniture, supplies, and services, negotiating the best price for value, obtaining two to three bids or quotations as applicable, processing purchase requisitions on a timely basis, and following up on orders to ensure specifications are met.
  • Overseeing planning, budgeting, execution, and delivery of capital improvement projects across hotel properties to enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, brand standards, and asset value.
  • Collaborating with hotel operations teams to minimize guest disruption during project execution.
  • Managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure successful delivery.
  • Overseeing design development, contractor selection, procurement, and construction administration.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors to ensure compliance with brand and operational requirements.
  • Conducting site inspections and monitoring construction progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Preparing project status reports and communicating progress, risks, and financial updates to leadership and ownership groups.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation including permits, drawings, warranties, and closeout records.
  • Partnering with departments such as Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Procurement for seamless project delivery.
  • Participating in management training sessions, communication, and planning meetings.
  • Participating in employee and community relations functions.
  • Participating in promotional events outside of the resort as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Graduate.
  • PMP certification (Project Management Institute) preferred.
  • Minimum: 1+ years of project management or similar experience in hospitality, commercial construction, or facilities capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
