About the role
Loyal Source is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to oversee fire alarm installation projects throughout New York City. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing fire alarm projects from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Edwards fire alarm systems experience is highly preferred; however, candidates with experience working with other major fire alarm manufacturers will also be considered.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of multiple simultaneous fire alarm installation projects.
- Oversee project execution from planning through successful completion.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, contracts, change order requests, subcontractor change orders, and related project documentation.
- Cook up with general contractors, subcontractors, and other construction trades to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Provide regular project status updates and communicate progress to the Operations Manager.
- Manage project procurement and budgeting to ensure alignment with estimated costs and project financial goals.
- Conduct project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA standards, local codes, and customer specifications.
- Support project closeout activities, including final documentation, testing, and inspections.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing fire alarm installation.
- Experience overseeing projects on an active construction site.
- Experience overseeing the installation, programming, and commissioning of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Experience designing fire alarm systems and preparing submittal packages.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm manufacturers such as Edwards (preferred), Notifier, Fire-Lite, Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Simplex, Bosch, or other major manufacturers.
- Working knowledge of NFPA codes, industry regulations, and trade standards.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout New York State as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Certification (Level II or higher preferred).
