PROJECT MANAGER
About the role
This position plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
Responsibilities
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frames.
- Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Establishes work plan and staffing and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel.
- Reviews status report and prepares project reports.
- Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Meet with customers and satisfy their needs.
- Monitor subcontractor’s work.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly to assure all invoices are paid.
- Manage projects (responsible for all projects bid unless reassigned).
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
- Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
- Maintain MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years project management experience.
Able to hold and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
Able to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
Qualifications
2-4 year degree preferred in construction management or engineering from an accredited college or equivalent.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Able to work independently and under time constraints.

Pay
The typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM. Two Saturdays per month. This can vary depending on the project.
