Project Manager
About the role
We are looking for a talented Project Manager - Sales to join our team specializing in Sales for an industry leading diesel engine & generator manufacturing company in Phoenix, AZ. This is a 1-year contract assignment, with potential for extension. The role is a hybrid, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The max pay rate is $52.88 hourly.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple projects from start to finish, facilitating planning sessions to define scope and objectives, and working with stakeholders to set performance goals.
- Identify, track, and collaborate with others to resolve project issues efficiently.
- Monitor and communicate project status regularly to the project team, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned.
- Plan and monitor the project budget, conduct research and analysis, and contribute to the design and development of project plans and timelines.
- Use quality tools to identify and manage project risks, working with team members to find alternatives or solutions.
- Document and share team learnings with other teams, leveraging past experiences to enhance project success.
- Maintain detailed project notes, databases, and other records, and communicate with the Project Sponsor and stakeholders on project status and assignments.
- Identify and assign appropriate resources for project tasks, guide and coach team members through project stages, and provide developmental feedback.
Requirements
- Regularly assess the project environment to identify potential issues and risks early, using tools like risk matrices to prioritize issues based on impact and likelihood.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize risks and address issues promptly.
- Create detailed resource plans that account for expenses and headcount, ensuring the right resources are available at the right time, using project management tools to allocate resources efficiently, track usage, and make adjustments as needed.
- Clearly define project scope and ensure stakeholders understand inclusions and exclusions, using change management processes to handle scope changes, ensuring they are documented and approved.
- Tailor communication to the audience’s background and needs, breaking down complex information and using visuals when needed.
Qualifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.

Additional Responsibilities
- Adapts to Target Audience: Tailor communication to the audience’s background and needs, breaking down complex information and using visuals when needed.
- Self-Motivated: Accountable for a specific area of responsibility and a book of business. Must demonstrate self-discipline in customer call prioritizing, scheduling, and route optimization.
- Projects should be managed with an engineering approach.
- Prior experience in the Power Generation or engineering industry highly desirable.
- Up to 25% travel expected (e.g., major deliveries and generator commissioning).
- Preferred software familiarity: Salesforce, BMS, QuickServe, Microsoft Office Suite, CAD (CREO/AutoCAD).
Other Locations
Projects may be located in other locations at manager discretion.
