Project Manager
Overview
As a Project Manager for Keel Midwest, you will be responsible for ensuring jobs/projects progress according to schedule, budget, and according to the work order description (i.e., giving the customer what they bought). You will communicate or hold meetings as necessary with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to keep them updated and informed, and to make any changes or other decisions needed to facilitate them.
Job Functions
- Participate in kickoff meetings to help team become familiar with new jobs/projects in collaboration with customer.
- Create schedules and action logs to keep personnel informed and updated on project status.
- Work with functional departments to keep the product on schedule and in budget.
- Help manage resources cost-effectively.
- Hold and attend key information and follow-up meetings.
- Facilitate routing/completion of alterations.
Physical Demands
Minimal physical stress, but moderate to high mental stress due to the impact position has on customer satisfaction and future business.
Work Environment
Typical office environment. Some time will be spent on the shop floor, so exposure to debris, eye-flash, dust, and moving equipment is to be expected and PPE is required in those instances. Visits both from and to vendors are to be expected.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required, ideally with significant training in management or project management.
- A bachelor's degree in management, project management, and/or manufacturing engineering is preferred.
- PMP certification is highly desired.
- You must have 10 years experience in manufacturing (machine tool industry specifically) or equivalent project management experience.
- You must be organized and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- You must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
