Project Manager, Operations, is responsible for proactively leading multiple cross-functional projects within the operations department. This position will be responsible for the planning, reporting, execution, and completion of critical business projects ensuring consistency with operations and sourcing strategic commitments, and goals while ensuring the projects are delivered on time and on budget. Additionally, this position is to provide project management expertise that will enable the business to grow, develop, and effectively run projects. This includes optimizing the project management methodologies via training and coaching, the development of and maintenance of new tools and processes, and sharing best practices across functions.
Leadership and influence
- Leads highly visible operations project management activity and regularly reports to upper management on the status of projects.
- Manages projects related to operations, cost savings initiatives, supplier moves, and sourcing initiatives with significant impact to the business.
- Leads the core project teams by providing the necessary training and facilitating team activities for planning, decision-making, and problem-solving.
- Collects and analyzes performance of the projects by collecting data for key metrics and reporting out the performance.
- Be the process expert by incorporating and supporting processes and tools that are used to identify, prioritize, and select opportunities/projects for optimal value and strategic alignment.
Communication skillset
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) in a clear and concise manner utilizing compelling visual aids/tools.
- Competent with executive-level and stakeholder management communication in a global company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, analytical field, or related science required.
- 4+ years of experience in managing projects.
- Experience working in a medical device regulated environment required.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally.
- Proven track record of active project management across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of sound cross-functional actions and decisions impacting the business process and company results.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Must be proficient in MS Office Applications.
- Experience with Power BI preferred.
- Project Manager training preferred.
