About the role
The Architectural Project Manager is responsible for overall supervision of commercial, industrial, municipal, and various other architectural design & permitting projects. The Project Manager’s focus will be providing utmost satisfaction to the client aligning with Duplantis Design Group’s core values. The Project Manager should strive to ensure projects are completed within the allocated schedule and budget provided.
Responsibilities
- Promote DDG's core values, both internally and externally, and comply with the DDG Company Manual.
- Obtains basic architectural data from documents, occupant interviews, and field measurements.
- Works with clients to program the physical, functional, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements of the project.
- Assists in preparing the Estimate or Probable Construction Cost and Project Budget.
- Prepares preliminary design sketches and material and color selections for projects as required.
- Prepares complete architectural working drawings and construction permit documents for stamp and signature; prepares specifications for the purchase of various materials and equipment required for projects.
- Checks architectural plans and details prior to final review by the Senior Architectural Project Manager.
- Reviews engineering plans to identify areas of conflict between various discipline’s drawings and specifications and works with other consultants to resolve design problems.
- Continually monitors the progress and status of construction projects through site visits and discussions with construction supervisors and Client.
- Maintains job files to include submittals, change orders, and document modification.
- Develops and prepares required correspondence for all aspects of project programming, design, estimating, bidding, construction, closeout, warranty, and other related issues.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited college or university.
- License to practice architecture.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience or the equivalent thereof.
- Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
Skills
- Ability to analyze and assess construction project needs and to define efficient solutions.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Knowledge of building design and construction principles, detailing, processes, methods, techniques, and standards.
- Knowledge of architectural characteristics of building materials.
- Knowledge of the principles of energy conservation applicable in building design.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and standards.
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction permits and documentation requirements.
- Ability to prepare accurate plans, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
- Knowledge of firm’s customer service standards and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community.
- Knowledge of construction project budgeting and cost estimating principles.
- Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.
- Ability to be both creative and analytical.
- Detail-oriented and accurate.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
