Project Manager

Position Summary

The Project Manager provides overall site leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, with excellent quality while adhering to project schedules and budget requirements.

Essential Functions/Duties

• Complete understanding of the project contract including scope, budget, and scheduling
• Works with accounting to develop project cost
• Leads effort with project management and supervision to establish detailed project plan
• Fully authorizes resolution of all technical and commercial issues with the client
• Works alongside safety and quality departments to ensure all company, client and regulatory issues are adhered to
• Leads routine meetings with project management and supervision to review project progress
• Works with project management team on all commodity purchasing as well as subcontractor management
• Provides leadership and guidance to project management and staff
• Communicates routinely with Senior and Executive management
• Communicates and/or collaborates when necessary, with the client, engineers, and other contractors on project issues
• Responsible for overall success of the project including safety, quality, budget, and schedule

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 10 years’ minimum experience in project management of complex industrial projects
• Proven track record working with construction companies that self-perform
• 4 Year Degree in Construction or related field
• Demonstrated success in team leadership, process adherence, ownership/commitment, learning agility and risk management
• Strategic thinker who can establish and manage plans while building and fostering relationships
• Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations
• Proficient PC skills; including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management scheduling software

Working Conditions/Physical Effort

• Conditions include working in an office, shop space, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped sites often, without environmental controls
• Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, petroleum products, vibrations, construction debris, and adverse weather conditions
• Must be able to safely access all areas of the site including but not limited to, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as confined spaces
• Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to twenty pounds
• Physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position
• Climb stairs occasionally, sit frequently, walk frequently, stand frequently, push and pull up to 20 pounds occasionally, reach frequently, kneel occasionally
