Project Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing projects through the full product lifecycle, from initial request for information (RFI) and planning through production and delivery.
- Cook up and drive new product introduction (NPI) activities within an electronics manufacturing environment, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to volume production.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, managing approximately 20% of time in customer interactions to understand requirements, provide updates, and address issues.
- Manage approximately 60% of time leading projects through manufacturing, including scheduling, resource planning, and coordination with production, engineering, and materials teams.
- Oversee project financials, dedicating about 20% of time to managing budgets, forecasts, and procurement activities to ensure projects meet financial targets.
- Facilitate strong cross-department communication among engineering, production, materials management, and quality teams to keep projects aligned and on track.
- Cook with clients to clarify technical and commercial requirements, manage expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor material management activities related to assigned projects, including component availability, lead times, and procurement status, to prevent production delays.
- Track project progress against timelines, milestones, and deliverables, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including plans, status reports, and change requests, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in project management and manufacturing processes by identifying opportunities and contributing to best practices.
Requirements
- Proven project management experience within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on electronics.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience leading projects and guiding cross-functional teams.
- Strong cross-department and client communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and project information to diverse stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of the full product lifecycle, from RFI and early concept stages through production and delivery.
- Hands-on experience with new product introduction (NPI) in electronics manufacturing.
- A knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and material management practices.
- The ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and procurement activities for multiple projects.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in contract manufacturing (CM) or electronics manufacturing services (EMS) environments is preferred.
- Experience in project coordination across engineering, production, and supply chain functions.
- Familiarity with RFI processes and customer-facing project documentation.
- Comfort working with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

This role operates within an electronics manufacturing setting, collaborating closely with engineering, production, materials management, and quality teams. The work involves regular interaction with internal departments and external customers, using standard project management tools and communication platforms to coordinate activities and share updates. The schedule typically follows standard business hours, with flexibility as needed to support project timelines and customer requirements. The environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, requiring a professional appearance appropriate for both office and production-floor interactions.

This is a Contract position based out of Richardson, TX.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
