About the role
The Project Accounting Assistant supports the Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Area Management, ensuring projects are completed according to contract documents, plans, and within budget. Key responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting business documents, preparing bids, managing subcontractors, and performing general administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports and business correspondences.
- Perform job set-ups, invoicing, and finalizing jobs.
- Calculate figures and amounts to analyze job cost and profitability.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Assist in the preparation of bids.
- Communicate with external clients on follow-up items and collections.
- Aid in subcontractor management.
- Perform general administrative duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years of work experience.
- Microsoft Office experience with data entry and system navigation.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Able to multitask and work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Accounting knowledge and understanding preferred.
- Office administration experience preferred.
