About the role

Remote position with 15–25% travel required. The Project Manager of Architecture and Design (Healthcare) implements Intuitive Health’s established design concepts and standards, leading and collaborating with a talented team of internal, external, and partner designers, professional staff, and external Architectural and Engineering resources. This role enhances the patient experience through collaboration with Construction and Real Estate to maintain a consistent standard of design excellence in a high-growth environment.

Project types include Free-Standing Emergency Departments, Urgent Care facilities, Medical Office Buildings, and combinations thereof, primarily consisting of de novo builds with some Tenant Improvement work. Success in this role requires the ability to implement standards in a constantly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinate the work of Project Architects and balance multidisciplinary teams (MEP, Structural) throughout the entire project’s development.
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Create conceptual drawings, site plans, and other minor illustrations as needed.
  • Lead design work sessions during all phases of plan documents with internal team members and partner representatives; facilitate sessions in collaboration with the Project Architect and other disciplines to advance work through all phases of delivery.
  • Utilize designated software platforms to upload relevant documents, including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), permit-approved sets, RFIs, specifications, and submittal sheets.
  • Ensure agendas and meeting minutes are conducted after each design call to capture notes and next steps, ensuring alignment with partners on design status.
  • Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate/adjust work effort to ensure completion within agreed-upon schedules.
  • Manage Design & Architecture for projects from Schematic Design through project opening, including architecture, civil, and engineering review, RFIs, and punch list determination.
  • Manage the Design process with partners and operations teams, keeping them on track and providing bi-weekly updates on status, milestones, and tasks.
  • Review, approve, and manage A&E proposals and project quotes.
  • Track all budget costs and changes for the Architecture & Design budget.
  • Perform site visits as needed.
  • Coordinate review of submittals, RFI responses, and specification verifications with architects and engineers.
  • Track and address permit comments.
  • Coordinate with Intuitive Health and Health System Partners (HSP) on permit status and anticipated approval dates.
  • Project manage/coordinate with Architect/MEP/Civil or HSP on Construction Document execution.
  • Manage file storage of all quotes, plans, submittals, and other project-related documents.
  • Oversee and adhere to the schedule established for the Design and CD process, escalating delays as needed.
  • Strengthen both internal and partner relations through excellence in project delivery.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Architecture, Construction Management, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of related architectural, design, construction, or healthcare project management experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Experience reviewing architectural and construction documents and supporting project implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Skills

  • Knowledge of healthcare design standards, permitting processes, and construction coordination preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare facility design and construction projects preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with operational leaders, consultants, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret architectural and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles with the ability to assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and basic financial analysis.
  • Experience with Smartsheets, CAD/CAFM software, and project management platforms preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
