ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an on-site Project Manager 3 to lead complex strategic initiatives from planning through execution, driving business improvements, managing project scope, resources, risks, timelines, and stakeholder communications. The ideal candidate has experience leading cross-functional projects, facilitating change management efforts, developing KPIs and reporting, and delivering process improvement solutions. Utility industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management expertise and support for manager-assigned strategic initiative projects, from beginning to end, including guidance on PMI-based methodology, best practices, and internal skill development.
  • Implement and track the success of strategic goals and business improvement initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations regarding project expectations, approach, roadmaps, work plans, deliverables, and goals.
  • Communicate and collaborate with implementing organizations, process owners, and policy owners to facilitate strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and draft recommendations for necessary subject matter expertise during projects.
  • Forecast and recommend appropriate project resources; coordinate with performance managers for approval.
  • Collaborate with business units and performance managers to resolve resource allocation issues.
  • Recommend roadmaps to achieve program initiatives and project objectives.
  • Draft project plans and resource strategies for assigned projects.
  • Alert manager of potential changes to project scope, schedule, or performance and obtain authorization.
  • Organize, coordinate, and facilitate project team work, serving as liaison between business and technical aspects.
  • Monitor progress to track timelines, milestones, deadlines, and standards; alert managers of obstacles or delays and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Coordinate project activities to accomplish goals within time and funding parameters, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to facilitate project tasks and understand business needs and dependencies.
  • Address politically sensitive issues collaboratively, escalating to managers as needed.
  • Provide technical input, options, and recommendations for project decisions.
  • Issue regular project status reports and maintain communication with sponsors, managers, and clients.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and managers to remove obstacles impacting timely project completion.
  • Develop and report on metrics and outcomes (KPIs, scorecards, dashboards).
  • Draft final project reports, including "lessons-learned," for management review.
  • Proactively manage project risks by identifying potential areas of risk, maintaining issue/risk logs, and developing contingency plans.
  • Support and facilitate written and verbal sponsor communication, project team coordination, milestone management, and deliverables communication.
  • Coordinate with IT resources and program enterprise architects.
  • Manage team and sponsor meetings.
  • Support deliverables including scope definition, business requirements analysis, organizational design, change management, process/system design, and gap analysis.
  • Integrate architecture design and create end-user training materials.
  • Facilitate documentation of revised processes and organizational roles.
  • Maintain compliance with filing systems, marking documents, and dispersing them only to authorized personnel.
  • Validate official records for auditing purposes in accordance with INFOSEC and IGLM standards.
  • Develop and foster relationships with stakeholders, including strategic partners and managers at all levels.
  • Communicate regularly with executive sponsors, stakeholders, and managers in team meetings.
  • Facilitate project transitions to new project managers, including training and documentation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Management, Organizational Development, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • With an applicable bachelor’s degree: 10 years of experience required.
  • With a non-applicable bachelor’s degree: 12 years of experience required.
  • Without a bachelor’s degree: 14 years of experience required.
  • Experience must include direct work in a project management capacity, managing projects in accordance with industry principles, including process development and execution.
  • Knowledge of product management and process management.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytic and root cause identification skills.
  • Experience influencing and integrating change in large, diverse organizations.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of a large company.
  • Experience leading project teams and management review sessions for organization-level improvement efforts.
  • Ability to influence others and align diverse groups toward common goals.
  • Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it to business, executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of change management, work tracking, and time management processes.
  • PMI or PMP certification.
  • Experience in resource planning.
  • Intermediate experience with SharePoint for document management.
  • Ability to accurately assess and estimate project costs.
  • Ability to work autonomously on assigned tasks.
  • Strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
  • Professional and collaborative demeanor with excellent listening, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the utility business is preferred.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
  • U.S. citizenship required; work sponsorship is not available.

Pay

$49.57 - $70.82 per hour

Full-time, on-site position located in Vancouver, WA.
