Responsibilities
- Manage and execute engineering design tasks for MEP projects, from conceptual design through construction oversight and administration
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of design and construction
- Support client development activities, including the development of proposals, approach, scope, budget, and qualification packages
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Lead coordination efforts with architects, owners, contractors, and internal technical teams
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and building systems design projects
- Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking
- Manage and mentor project staff, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth
- Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, standards, and sustainability goals
- Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency across project deliverables
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Minimum of 10 years of consulting engineering and project management experience
- Strong understanding of building codes, energy standards, and construction practices
- Demonstrated experience managing complex building systems projects
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and consultants
- Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and client management skills
- Enthusiasm to learn and self-motivated in improving team and personal performance
- Able to thrive in a multitasking environment with the flexibility to work with different project teams locally and across several offices and business lines
- Strong leadership ability and aptitude and a desire to manage and mentor junior staff
- Experience with sustainable design and energy-efficient building systems
- Proficiency with industry-standard engineering and design software
