In this role, you’ll provide essential support to the Distribution Project Management (DPM) group, tracking progress from scope review and design through construction and project close-out for a variety of project types.

About the role

As a Project Management Support - Construction, Specialist, you will assist the DPM Project Manager and Project Team, ensuring projects move efficiently from planning to completion. Your work will contribute to reducing carbon emissions and creating cleaner air for everyone.

Responsibilities

  • Support pre-construction and construction planning by crafting, supervising, and ensuring adherence to action items; serve as a subject matter expert for tools and systems of record to maintain data integrity, assist with access and training, and provide additional support as needed.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams, often consisting of 30 or more members.
  • Assist the project manager with project-related tasks, including preparing progress reports, tracking achievements, metrics, schedules, and budgets; provide status updates to project manager leadership and stakeholders.
  • Establish, present, and apply project procedures, directives, and bulletins to ensure compliance with SCE’s policies and procedures.
  • Utilize project management tools and systems, including Microsoft Project, to maintain sophisticated project schedules.
  • Craft and maintain project documentation, including version control, distribution, document storage/retention in document libraries, and access control.
  • Develop presentations and other project documentation for review by departmental, organizational management, and executive committees for approval through project gates and stages.
  • Collaborate with peers and leadership to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend or implement new reporting features or formats.
  • Serve as the leader/owner for organizational SharePoint, OneNote, Shared Drives, and system tools to ensure adherence to company policies; cross-validate data across sources to ensure accuracy and identify updates.
  • Ensure the protection of SCE’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly manage private customer data, proprietary information, confidential records, and other sensitive data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of Project Support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using P6 to track project progress.
  • Electric distribution experience.
  • Experience in project management theories and practices using the IPSEC model.
  • Experience crafting and maintaining records, logs, documents, files, or databases for monitoring, tracking, and trending program/project costs, budget and production variance, resources, schedules, and status for management with attention to detail.
  • Experience reviewing, updating, and preparing reports, documents, or correspondence for internal and external customers to provide project updates and status with attention to detail.
  • Experience performing risk analysis, capturing documents, and researching data on assigned topics using databases, files, spreadsheets, or other sources.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects/assignments concurrently with minimal oversight under tight timelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and SAP.
  • Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage information, and provide outstanding service to internal and external customers.

Additional Information

This position is hybrid, requiring you to report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on remaining days. You must work and reside in the state of California. The primary work location is Pomona, CA (Pomona Innovation Village), though you may be asked to work throughout the SCE service territory. The role requires up to 10% travel and fieldwork within the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply to this position.
