Responsibilities
- Facilitate continuous improvement events to develop, define and improve processes in the forming and finishing of aircraft composite structures.
- Analyze various manufacturing processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedule.
- Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working proactively with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving, impactful solutions.
- Work with program leadership to assess what-if scenarios and guide long-term strategic decision making across several different programs.
- Generate metrics and conducts studies pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery.
- Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence with program management and customers, even though unforeseen challenges arise.
- Apply systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery.
- Develop and summarize analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and equipment.
- Provides capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications for Level 2: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree. Ability to work on an assembly floor. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and special program access.
- Basic Qualifications for Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience. Ability to work on an assembly floor. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and special program access.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field. Experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools.
