Project Management / Principal Project Management - Level 2 or 3
This position is located on-site in Clearfield, Utah and requires 10% travel. U.S. Citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
About the role
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Project Manager Level 2 or a Principal Project Manager Level 3 to lead and oversee the installation of large-scale equipment in our manufacturing facilities. This role requires a strong background in project management, engineering, and construction, with a focus on ensuring installations are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, manage project timelines, and ensure seamless integration of new equipment into existing operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, for large equipment installations.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
- Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential risks, and develop contingency plans to address them.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep all parties informed of project progress, changes, and issues.
- Review project-related engineering and architectural drawings and provide input.
- Ensure transitions between project engineering and existing or new architectural structures are seamless.
- Oversee the installation process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
- Ensure all installation activities are documented, and that as-built drawings and operating manuals are provided.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts and present them to senior management as needed.
- Approve invoices, change orders, and other project-related financial documents.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and final inspections to ensure the equipment is installed correctly and functions as intended.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep the project on track.
Requirements
- Valid Utah driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance within a reasonable timeframe as determined by business needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable timeframe as determined by business needs.
- 2 years of experience in project management methodologies and tools, including Gantt charts, project management software systems, and risk management.
Qualifications
Project Manager (Level 2)
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in Project Management or the following engineering fields: Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautics, Electrical, Process, Production & Manufacturing; OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in the mentioned fields; OR
- Master’s degree with 0 years of experience in the mentioned field.
Principal Project Manager (Level 3)
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Project Management or the following engineering fields: Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautics, Electrical, Process, Production & Manufacturing; OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in the mentioned fields; OR
- Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in the mentioned field; OR
- PhD with 1 year of experience in the mentioned fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or other relevant project management certification.
- Experience with large-scale equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for equipment installation in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with presentations to leadership, executive, or management teams.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
Pay
Primary Level (Project Manager Level 2) Salary Range: $65,500.00 – $98,300.00.
Secondary Level (Principal Project Manager Level 3) Salary Range: $81,400.00 – $122,000.00.
The above salary ranges represent general guidelines. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
