Principal/Sr. Principal Project Manager - Level 3 or Level 4

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Project Manager Level 3 or a Senior Principal Project Manager Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on site in Clearfield, Utah. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel is required, approximately 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, for large equipment installations.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
- Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential risks, and develop contingency plans to address them.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep all parties informed of project progress, changes and issues.
- Review project-related engineering and architectural drawings and provide input.
- Ensure transitions between project engineering and existing or new architectural structure is seamless.
- Oversee the installation process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards and project timelines.
- Ensure all installation activities are documented, and that as-build drawings and operating manuals are provided.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts and present them to senior management as needed.
- Approve invoices, change orders, and other project related financial documents.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and final inspections to ensure the equipment is installed correctly and functions as intended.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep project on track.
Qualifications
For a Principal Project Manager (Level 3), the basic qualifications are:
- A minimum of high school diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Project Management or a related engineering field.
- OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- OR PhD with 1 year of experience in mentioned fields.
- 3 years of experience in Project Management methodologies and tools, including Gantt charts, project management software systems and risk management.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
For a Senior Principal Project Manager (Level 4), the basic qualifications are:
- A minimum of high school diploma or GED and 11 years of experience in Project Management or a related engineering field.
- OR Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- OR Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- OR PhD with 4 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- 3 years of experience in Project Management methodologies and tools, including Gantt charts, project management software systems and risk management.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Skills
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for equipment installation in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to obtain Secret level clearance.
- Experience with presentations to leadership, executive and or management.
- Experience in aerospace industry.
Pay
The primary level salary range is $81,400.00 - $122,000.00. The secondary level salary range is $101,400.00 - $152,000.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
