Job ID: ENGIE North America Inc., Business Unit: LEI RoW, Division: LEI RoW - Northam

About the role

As our Project Manager I at the Ohio State University campus, you will manage utility infrastructure capital projects that support the campus utility system, including electric and thermal energy production, distribution, stormwater, and wastewater improvements. Project schedules, meetings, and planned outages may require additional onsite time, including occasional nights or weekends. Your onsite presence will help resolve issues, remove barriers, and keep projects moving safely and effectively.

From development through completion, you will coordinate meetings, prepare reports, oversee project progress, manage design and construction contracts, and lead cross-functional project teams. Success will be measured by completing projects safely, on time, and within budget, with no health, safety, environmental, or public relations incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of contracts, including the development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work, and principle contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts Management and the Procurement Department
  • Collaboration with University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects
  • Partner with Program Manager and Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify potential projects and develop business justifications
  • Manage scope development, estimates, stakeholder management, contracting, cost development, cost tracking, project execution, commissioning, and closeout of projects
  • Create and deliver presentations and professional communications using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other project management tools
  • Prepare written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders, including management teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Utilize new budgets and cost-tracking devices to provide input to long-term financial planning, issue contracts, change contract orders, and process invoices
  • Monitor project progress in design and construction phases through regular contractor and stakeholder interaction, both virtually and in-person on work sites

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or an energy-related field; experience in construction or project management may be considered in lieu of the specialization of the degree
  • Possess or have the desire to achieve a PMP Certification
  • Experience fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
  • Exposure to project support, including full or partial responsibility for managing scope development, estimates, stakeholder management, contracting, cost development, cost tracking, project execution, commissioning, and closeout of projects
  • Experience creating and giving presentations and using project management tools such as Microsoft Office and Procore
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, colleagues, and contractors, including engineers, architects, and construction firms
  • Frequent attendance at job sites; must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record to use a company vehicle and travel across campus to project sites
  • Willingness and ability to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Schedule

  • Hybrid work schedule as project commitments allow; at a minimum, three days a week are required in the office with a set schedule to be agreed upon with the Supervisor

Pay

Hourly Range: $37.07 - $56.84 USD hourly. This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and employer-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • Generous paid time off, including wellness days, holidays, and leave programs
  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with a company match
  • Supplemental benefits for emotional and physical well-being, including family-forming and caregiver benefits
