Project Logistics Lead

About the role

The Supply Chain Management Operations Department oversees, standardizes, and provides technical leadership for internal material handling operations at Honda’s automobile powertrain and final assembly sites across North America. The Process Engineer is responsible for engineering and executing the internal logistics flow of parts through a specific Honda plant to the production line. This includes supporting the development and design of internal material delivery processes, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing solutions through process analysis, time studies, and work balancing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert to develop and coordinate Supply Chain Operations (SCO) and third-party logistics (3PL) process development in collaboration with production departments.
• Utilize engineering tools (MOST, AutoCAD, Visio, QMF, Excel, etc.) to achieve project and business plan targets.
• Oversee areas of responsibility including manpower planning, process and vanning layout design, expectation sheets, and New Model packaging.
• Lead SCO projects with considerable complexity (budgets exceeding $250,000).
• Develop, lead, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), complete project evaluations, present to leadership for approval, and provide project oversight to 3PLs and other Honda project members.
• Support Group Leads in developing business plan themes and strategies for the Operations Department.
• Oversee the investigation and resolution of complex production-related issues involving production departments and 3PLs.

Requirements

• Engineering-related degree or other relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering role.

Job Dimensions

Working Conditions
