About the role

BCG is growing! We are looking for experienced consultants to join our Health Care team at the Project Leader or Principal level. Qualified individuals will play a critical role in enriching project work and bringing forward-thinking solutions to our Health Care Services clients – primarily health systems and health insurance companies. Ideal candidates will have previous management consulting experience and demonstrated leadership in growing client relations, people, and knowledge development.

In this role, you will lead high-impact transformation programs, partnering with OneBCG teams — spanning traditional consulting, digital, AI, and technology talent — as well as senior client stakeholders. This is an outstanding opportunity to sharpen your problem-solving toolkit while gaining exposure to a broad range of industry challenges and opportunities.

Health Care consultants partner with Health Care Services clients to define winning strategies, shape their value proposition, enhance their operational effectiveness, and create sustained advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact transformation programs for Health Care Services clients, primarily health systems and health insurance companies.
  • Manage studies to define client needs and supervise research activities to obtain relevant data.
  • Oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and perform advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data.
  • Apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and evaluation of long-term investment opportunities.
  • Manage client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.
  • As a Principal, interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure alignment of expectations, provide project management oversight, develop presentations, manage external relationships, and oversee budgets.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring the "best of BCG" to clients, contributing to thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated consulting and industry experience within the Health Care Services sector; health insurance, health system, or PBM/enabling service experience preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of post-graduate consulting experience, including at least 1 year leading consulting teams on Health Care Services-focused engagements.
  • Track record of collaboration with senior executives and comfort delivering formal presentations to management.
  • Strong management and communication skills, with the ability to bring together stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking, with the ability to develop leading-edge business models and frameworks for analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide "thought leadership" to teams, owning responsibility for the quality of engagements.
  • A solid track record of building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business.
  • Ability to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive reasoning is the norm.

A technical degree is a plus but not required. A degree from a top-tier institution is preferred.
