Project Lead the Way Engineering Teacher

About the role

The Kansas City School District seeks a Secondary Teacher in the Engineering and Pathways to Energy program. This position is responsible for providing instruction in the content area to students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute lesson plans leading to student achievement of competencies in engineering and pathways to energy.
• Develop and update curriculum for the content program.
• Prepare orders for supplies, tools, equipment, and instructional materials.
• Maintain inventory and repair records, ensuring safe and proper operation of tools and equipment.
• Maintain an Advisory Board and keep records of meeting notices, agendas, and minutes.
• Stay informed of new trends, methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the content area.
• Participate in professional development activities as required by Kansas City Public Schools.
• Integrate C.T.S.O. leadership activities into the area of content.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the building leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 4000 hours of department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten years, or 60 Credit Hours of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5000 hours of department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten years.
• Valid certificates completed as applicable (CPR, culinary, business, safety, etc).
• Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Substitute certification.
• Previous teaching experience in an urban setting.
• Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Career Education Certification in the content area.
