Project Land Surveyor

About the role

At HR Green, our Survey team supports land development, transportation, and municipal projects by delivering accurate data. This role involves working on a variety of projects across Illinois, including residential and commercial developments, roadway improvements, and municipal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead land surveying efforts across both field and office environments
• Contribute to projects from initial research through final deliverables
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle
• Balance technical work, field involvement, and project leadership
• Lead and coordinate survey crews and office staff in completing project tasks
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with clients and internal teams
• Identify and address technical, schedule, or financial challenges proactively
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior team members

Qualifications

• At least five years of progressive experience in land surveying
• Professional Land Surveyor license or ability to obtain within six months
• Experience with tools such as AutoCAD and other surveying software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and legal descriptions
• Valid driver’s license
