Project Geotechnical Engineer

Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an immediate opening for a Project Geotechnical Engineer in Houston, Texas.
About the Role
The successful candidate will manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects, including meeting and interacting with clients, and managing budgets. The Project Engineer will coordinate and participate in field activities, such as logging of borings, test pits, trenches and cores; evaluate geologic and seismic hazards; forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes; perform foundation, slope stability, and settlement analyses; and prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage geotechnical, forensic, and construction projects
- Meet and interact with clients
- Manage project budgets
- Coordinate and participate in field activities
- Log borings, test pits, trenches and cores
- Evaluate geologic and seismic hazards
- Forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes
- Perform foundation, slope stability, and settlement analyses
- Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and reports
- Provide technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists and field technicians
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 4+ years' experience in geotechnical consulting
- Local experience and familiarity with local engineering practice
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
