About the role
The Southern California Area is seeking to fill a position of a Project Geotechnical Engineer. This position can be based in Kleinfelder’s Laguna Hills, Riverside or Los Angeles, California offices.
Responsibilities
- Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
- Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support under supervision.
- Cookordination tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
- Prepare designs, reports and calculations on complex projects for review.
Requirements
- Experience on design/build projects preferred.
- Strong analytical skills in areas including: soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, materials testing and engineering soil improvement techniques, and pavement design.
- Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations and heavy civil project design and construction are preferred.
Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of related experience or 4 years related experience with a Master's or 2 years of related experience with PhD.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Skills
- Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.

Pay
The expected salary range for the position is $91,000 - $120,000. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Position will require the candidate to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail. Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.
