About the Role
The Mission Critical - Project Executive is a key representative and leader of Evans General Contractors, LLC (Evans) and is directly involved in the success of growing our Advanced Technology Division. This role is responsible for the overall management of assigned projects, working with all internal and external stakeholders to meet our client’s needs and exceed their expectations by delivering quality facilities on schedule and at competitive prices. The Project Executive develops and maintains relationships with new and existing clients and subcontractors to support company growth.
Responsibilities
- Participate in owner contract negotiations with the Preconstruction and Legal Departments.
- Support the Preconstruction Department to ensure adequate subcontractor coverage, detailed review of drawings, and participation in owner/preconstruction meetings.
- Ensure timely buyout and subcontract execution.
- Lead the Project Team in the development of the construction schedule.
- Oversee and manage the project schedule, updates, and construction site progress.
- Create, manage, and/or oversee cost projections and track all project financials.
- Maintain overall financial responsibility against the established budget, including change orders.
- Manage the project closeout phase, including ensuring compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
- Set the pace for teams and remain available for support.
- Demonstrate professional credibility, integrity, trust, and commitment.
- Provide high-level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance for the project and team members.
- Select and/or oversee subcontractors working on various phases of the projects.
- Oversee and/or coordinate the issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Provide leadership to the Project Team and support Project Superintendent(s) in project execution.
- Ensure proper administration of construction contracts and obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with internal and external customers.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Civil Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in Construction Project Management with an emphasis on Design-Build and Mission Critical projects.
- Strong knowledge of complex MEP systems related to Mission Critical experience.
- Experience with project risk mitigation.
- Preferred experience with construction projects in advanced scheduling, cost management, project controls, safety, QA/QC, and commissioning.
- Superior communication skills, with a strong ability to influence decisions of team members, partners, and customers.
