Project Executive - Mission Critical

About the role

The Project Executive leads the planning, coordination, and completion of construction projects. This role has full responsibility for all phases of construction—from budgeting, bidding, and cost control to client relations and closeout. The Project Executive leads both internal and external project teams throughout the project life cycle, ensuring financial goals are met. They also take ownership of client relationships and national accounts, participate in staffing decisions with Office Leadership, and contribute to business development.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in RFP responses, including developing presentations and leading pitches.
• Engage in business development and client relationship management by organizing client events and fostering relationships with designers and clients to assist with budgets or existing condition reviews during schematic design and preconstruction phases.
• Develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers through guidance, coaching, mentoring, and leading by example on contentious or difficult project issues.
• Oversee cost control and change management processes to ensure accurate cost tracking, monthly forecasting, timely resolution of billing and receivable issues, and proper communication of budget changes to clients.
• Bring in new project leads and bid opportunities by maintaining regular contact with current and past clients and actively seeking new relationships with potential clients, designers, and building managers.
• Contribute to company growth by participating in intern or candidate interviews and the Mentoring Program to share skills, knowledge, and experience while reinforcing company culture.
• Develop and lead training classes on industry and company best practices, technical skills, and human skills.
• Participate in staffing decisions with Office Leadership.
• Mentor team members, foster growth opportunities, and work with Project Managers and Senior Project Managers on performance issues or disciplinary concerns, including proposing title and pay changes when applicable.

• Must provide references and a project list.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering is preferred, but strong work experience will be considered.
• 13+ years of construction project management experience, with 5 years specifically in commercial construction.
• Experience managing all aspects of field operations, including scheduling, quality control, and coordinating subcontractors.
• Solid background in construction trades and technical knowledge.

Pay

Salary Range: $205,000 - $297,000
