About the Role

The Project Executive is responsible for providing leadership and management to assigned projects in a safe, profitable, and timely manner. The PX manages the work consistently with standards of quality and integrity, participating in marketing, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiation phases as needed. The primary function is to champion project execution, from preconstruction (when assigned) to construction, serving as the highest management level at the project site. This role typically involves managing large, complex data center projects totaling $200 million or more. Experience in large data center projects is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Champions the orderly transition of projects from estimating to the field, including project review meetings covering contract requirements, schedules, budgets, and subcontracts.
  • Completes close-out requirements and punch lists promptly.
  • Handles warranty callbacks to maintain owner/client relationships.
  • Coordinates means and methods for successful project execution with the Project Team.
  • Reviews and monitors manpower, equipment, and material resources.
  • Establishes professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Develops and maintains the project charter and comprehensive project management plan (PMP), including scope, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety, and risk management plans.
  • Ensures project success in safety, schedule, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manages billings, payment applications, and subcontractor payments to maintain positive cash flow.
  • Develops and coordinates the CPM schedule with the Superintendent and Project Engineer.
  • Ensures detailed schedules are prepared and distributed, with attention to delay prevention and documentation.
  • Utilizes Lean processes for scheduling activities.
  • Participates in business development, including client contacts, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Provides feedback to estimators for future bidding and subcontractor evaluations.
  • Prepares Monthly Progress Reports in coordination with the Superintendent(s).
  • Manages costs and prepares accurate cost projections.
  • Executes purchase orders, subcontracts, insurance certificates, bonds, and lien waivers.
  • Administers prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
  • Reviews and executes change orders, supplements, and budget adjustments.
  • Reviews estimates for adherence to cost control, equipment utilization, constructability, materials, manpower, and schedules.

Requirements

  • Experience in preconstruction and managing large, complex construction projects.
  • Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 20+ years of experience managing projects exceeding $200 million.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment, scheduling, productivity, construction operations, and cash flow procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Physical ability to reach, stoop, kneel, bend, climb, and lift/carry objects occasionally.
  • Ability to use electronic devices for communication and comply with safety standards.

Pay

$230,000–$275,000 DOE
