Job Roles And Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for ceiling systems and related commercial construction projectsPerform material takeoffs and calculate labor requirements based on project drawings and specificationsReview architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and scopes of workObtain and evaluate supplier quotations and subcontractor pricingDevelop accurate cost proposals, project budgets, and estimatesIdentify discrepancies, scope gaps, and potential cost saving opportunitiesCollaborate with project managers, field supervisors, suppliers, and clients to clarify project requirementsSupport bid preparation, bid submissions, negotiations, and value engineering activitiesMaintain estimating databases, pricing records, and historical cost informationTrack bid results and use historical data to improve estimating accuracyEnsure estimates are accurate, organized, and completed within deadlinesSupport project planning and financial decision making through reliable cost analysis Qualifications And Certifications High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate or bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferredExperience in construction estimating and project cost estimationAbility to interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and scopes of workKnowledge of material takeoffs, labor calculations, subcontractor pricing, and construction budgetingFamiliarity with commercial construction, ceiling systems, or interior construction systems preferredProficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital plan review toolsExperience with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar estimating and takeoff software preferredStrong analytical, numerical, and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clientsWillingness to visit project sites when required
