Project Estimator

Responsibilities

• Determine project costs, appropriate product selection, product application, and evaluate benefits and drawbacks to support mutually beneficial decisions.
• Analyze project documentation such as plans, blueprints, bills of quantities, schedules, and software to estimate costs.
• Research suppliers and negotiate the best prices and quotes.
• Determine project timelines by considering material pricing, budgets, quotes, and potential setbacks.
• Assess and communicate potential financial or logistical risks, tracking variations to plans.
• Prepare bids by responding to requests for quotes, and creating proposals, technical documents, and submittal data.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal staff to gather data and provide information efficiently.
• Market the company and seek future opportunities to grow business.
• Meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Utilize various commercial, ductless, unitary software, web tools, and manufacturer web tools.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. with a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training in the HVAC/R industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of current construction standards.
• Adept at reading equipment schedules and mechanical blueprints, performing print take‑offs, and job estimating.
