Project Estimator

About the Role

The Project Estimator is responsible for developing administrative aspects of proposal development, supporting fully-compliant, highly successful proposals in response to customer RFQs and budgetary estimates. This includes identifying differentiators and strengths for proposal content. The role involves estimating labor, material, and time requirements to compute costs and generate quotes for Crescent Power Systems' potential clients.

The Project Estimator supports the Estimating Director and ensures the security and integrity of all proposal documentation by coordinating internal flow and availability of proposal components. This role represents early-stage interaction with both internal and external constituents, including working with vendors to secure appropriate goods and packages.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter data related to customer parts and bills of materials (costing sheets) to maintain accurate reference points for the Quotations Team.
• Understand confidential and proprietary information to accurately redact quotes as needed.
• Review inquiry documents for equipment, scope, special requirements, and appropriate vendor outreach under the Estimating Director’s oversight.
• Establish and document electronic proposal file access and tracking protocols to ensure the security and integrity of all proposal documentation.
• Support team goals related to price/delivery negotiations, terms and conditions of sale, and tracking vendor performance and logistics on the quotation end.
• Work with the Quotations Team to ensure proposals are delivered within customer-defined time frames and focused on delivering relevant equipment and service information to win bids.
• Obtain feedback from projects for “lessons learned” to incorporate into future proposals.
• Attend internal Sales/Order Review meetings with supporting documentation from the quotation process.
• Attend customer Sales/Order Review meetings as required with the sales staff.
• Maintain a bid-tracking system and print weekly reports in conjunction with sales on the proposal life cycle.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure Crescent Power is highly rated and receives priority bidding information.
• Maintain knowledge of approved company vendors, estimating methods, and project execution procedures.
• Reflect Crescent Power Systems’ brand through ethical, honest, and effective communication with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1+ years of experience in a professional environment.
• Working knowledge and experience with preparation of budgets, schedules, and cost estimates.

Skills

• Advanced degree of detail-orientation for integrating information from multiple sources.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to time manage.
• Effective, professional communication skills (written and verbal) for interfacing with clients and co-workers.
• Excellent Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and other company/discipline-specific software applications.

Travel

Minimal travel required (≤ 10%).
