You'll play a pivotal role in delivering engineering excellence for modernization projects that introduce state-of-the-art technology to aging railway vehicles, enhancing green mobility, passenger experience, and cost efficiency. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as sourcing, supply chain, and industrial teams), coordinate engineering activities across internal and external stakeholders, and manage risks and opportunities related to the engineering scope.
You’ll specifically take care of ensuring the quality, budget, and timely delivery of engineering deliverables, but also contribute to defining technical solutions for bids and supporting the engineering effort estimation for project phases.
We’ll look to you for:
- Coordinating all engineering activities across Alstom Services NAM, global Alstom units, and external suppliers
- Managing the complete engineering work package, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) adherence
- Overseeing risks and opportunities related to the engineering scope
- Interfacing with the project core team, engineering community, and end customers
- Supporting bids as a Bid Technical Manager by defining technical solutions to be offered and committing on the Engineering effort for the project phase (Q, C, D)
- Collaborating with leaders of various engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, systems, electrical, RAMS) to ensure resource alignment and deliverable management
Reporting
- Reporting hierarchically to Services NAM ALM Engineering Manager, and functionally to the Projects/Bids Managers
- Multiple functional reports (no direct report)
All about you
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (equivalent education may substitute for a degree)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering management, ideally in the railway environment (design and/or modernization of rolling stock)
- Proven management skills, strong leadership, and experience working with customers on complex projects
- Fluency in English (French is appreciated but not mandatory)
- Willingness to travel up to 20% within the NAM region, with occasional trips to Europe
Compensation
$100,000-$130,000 DOE
